It seems that to most people sun-worship negative and primitive connotation; yet, they themselves worship something that doesnt even exist. The sun is what gives us warmth, daylight, and energy regularly and we have the nerve to say that sun-worship is primitive and even immoral? Why, back in the good ol days, when there was a total solar eclipse, it terrified people because the sun disappeared! Of course it came back, but what if it didnt? What if the sun just disappeared?? We would be dead pretty soon (although we wouldnt know about it for about 8 minutes after it happened). The earth would be flung from its orbit into the cold void of space and would freeze over and most life would die, then when the energy within the earth runs out, the life that feeds off of that would die as well. Without the sun, were nothing.
"Jesus is God" say the Christians who insist on worshiping a human figure. Jesus is simply another metaphor for the sun anyway, just as there are in the many other mythologies of many different cultures. Jesus is just another sun god.
So since worship of Jesus is metaphorically, worship of the sun (the son) and Christianity is full of astrological symbolism. It makes even more sense to just go straight to the source!
The sun is relatively eternal. I suspect that no human will ever see the death of the sun, and no human has ever seen the birth of the sun. The sun is very powerful, and is very consistent, all of these are desirable qualities in a mythological god.
We all know that without the sun, there would be no earth, no life, and no us! So the sun is really what gave and continues to give us everything we have, it stirred up the dust to form this earth and gave it life. What else might be worth worshiping? The stars in the sky are consistent and relatively eternal and could help us navigate and tell time. The earth is also consistent and relatively eternal and gives us land, soil, and food. The clouds bring rain, which is necessary to grow crops and bring water where there is none. All of this is beginning to sound like a pagan religion.
Paganism is considered primitive by most people, and yet, it seems to be the more logical religion.
Why would worshiping the sun and earth be any more logical than worshiping God or Jesus or Allah?
First of all, the sun and the Earth definitely exist. There is no doubt about it. But also, characters like Jesus are mostly metaphors for the sun. Most of Christianity and various other religions and mythologies are metaphors and anthropomorphizations for objects of nature such as the sun, the moon, the stars, the earth, the weather, et cetera anyway!
Second of all, the sun and the earth are things that everyone experiences and needs to live.
All of these forces of nature are something to be revered because they provide us with things we need to live. Nature is so complex that we cant have just one thing to worship as god! Thats why early religions have many gods - because they more directly worshipped nature than Christians, Jews, or Muslims do.
I dont advocated the worshipping of anything in the religious sense because its pointless and is a waste of time, but they are something we shouldnt take for granted because earth-based forces are shaped by life, just as life is shaped by the environment. Since we are dominating this planet, and we are life, we contribute greatly in the shaping the environment that gives us life.
Love our planet and treat it with respect! You wouldnt be here without it.
